This link should take you to a biography of Alvina Krause, the founder and motor of several remarkable institutions of opportunity. One of them was The Playhouse at Eagles Mere. Pennsylvania, in the Poconos. The preceding one was Northwestern University's School of Speech and the following one was Bloomsbury Theatre Ensemble.
This blog is meant to be a catch basin for memories of the Repertory at Eagles Mere. I'm told the building, which was unpretentious to say the least, is on the ground now, just a pile of boards. No doubt we shall learn more about the people involved as we go along.
EAGLESMERE SUMMER REPERTORY THEATRE
OH, BABY! It wasn't as big as "Dirty Dancing," but it was pretty amazing and certainly life-changing!

JUST DO IT !
Kate said, "There ought to be a blog." So, voila! There will be overlap with Northwestern University School of Speech (alas, re-named), Alvina Krause, and the Bloomsberg Theatre Company, no doubt. I'll link as much as I can.
